Personal Statement

Since I was introduced to this wonderful game when I was four I have been a natural. It came easy to me when I was younger, and I quickly decided that soccer was the sport for me. When I was younger I displayed great speed and athletism and was involved with a 3v3 team out of Lexington KY. From the age of six our team excelled and we went to Orlando Florida for Nationals 7 times and finished top sixteen every time. The best we did was 5th although we went to a national in San Antonio and received 2nd place we did the same in Las Vegas. Playing 3v3 taught me hustle, determination, and desire. These qualities are eminent in my game to this day and i have 3v3 to thank for it. Through my younger years of my club I was a part of Lexington F.C. and played up an age till I was eleven. After my U11 season I played U11 again with my own age group. I stayed with that team till the end of U12. After the season of U12 I left Lexington F.C. and tried out and made Javanon, a highly thought of club out of Louisville. This was a huge commitment for my family to drive me an hour both ways to practice twice a week. This decision was made because i wanted to get to the next level with the help of better coaches and more serious players I achieved this. At the end of the U13 season I was a starter and played a big role in our state championship. We then went to regionals and won two out of our three pool games but lost to the runners up. The U14 season was a disappointing season for me. I lost my starting position at left back, but I didn't give up, I battled for a position and ended up playing left mid and starting. This struggle has helped my game because when I gained my position back it made me more offensive minded. We were later upset in the state semi finals by a inner city rival. After this loss I considered going to IMG Academies in Bradenton, Florida. I had recently been to camp there and was recruited to come there. After this season I knew I had to get better if I wanted to play at the collegiate level, which is my dream, so i spent the first semester there. I loved it i had the time of my life on and off the field. The coaching and the environment was outstanding. I then came back to my Javanon team that spring and had an outstanding season, the best I have ever played, our team peaked at the beggining og the season and then slowly began to fall apart. We lost again in state cup semis, but this time to Lexington F.C. my old team. This stung me and after this happened i knew our team would fall apart and my parents told me if i wanted to go back to IMG they could sacrifice and make it happen. This summer going into my sophomore year i attended ODP regional camp for the 3rd time and was on the bubble of making the team out of Kentucky. I have been working hard to get ready for IMg where i hope to make the U16 academy team.
