Nicholas Midttun '13 Recruiting Profile

My name is Nicolas Midttun (AKA.  Nico) and my passion is my love for the game of Soccer, my family, my education and God.

I feel that my strongest characteristics are my determination, dedication and desire to be the best I can be.  I have been blessed to have a close supporting family including my grand parents who have guided me to be a good citizen.  I have always been taught to respect others and help the community which I have done since grade school.  Currently i am involved in a community project to help build homes for the poor, and in Ecuador where I spend my summers I help my family with community activities that help the poor.

I am currently attending Florida International University, in which I am pursuing the sport as well as continuing my education towards my bachelor's degree.

As a player I have been playing the game of soccer as long as I can remember.  I learned the game in Ecuador where I was born, and continued my development here in the USA.  I pride my self on always looking for additional training, and when there is nothing organized available to me on a daily basis I go to the local park and work on my ball handling skills and physical conditioning.  

Winning the State Title with my teammates  in Div 6A in the State of Florida is one of my proudest moments. But I have been fortunate enough to be on many great teams including the U-18 Academy Team of Weston.  

At the Mid Fielder position you have to be a leader have good communication skills.  I believe I have these skills, and in practice I lead by example.  Playing in South America during my summer vacations for the past three years have taught me to love the game and to have a true passion.

My goal as it has been in high school, travel and now Academy is to play at the highest level of competition. Playing as a Freshman in College is one of my objectives it has come to real life as I went through my first semester in Spring of 2013.
