Dear College Recruiters:
I have played competitive soccer since I was 5 years old and have always excelled. As a three year starting mid center/forward and captain for my high school team, I won the golden boot award(most goals); averaged over 2 points per game and was named, a second time, to the state all-conference team. Our team, the Durango Demons, reached the 4-A state playoffs every year I have played varsity.
I also serve as captain of my club team, Durango United, which competes in league play in Albuquerque, NM and regional tournaments throughout the Southwest. We have won numerous tournaments over the years including last years Durango Shootout.
My qualifications include experience playing multiple positions:striker, center forward, center defense and sweeper. I am also proud of my dependability, durability and good character demonstrated over the last four years: I have not missed a high school or club game during that period due to injury, academic or disciplinary reasons.
I place team sportsmanship, leadership and composure as my top priorities and love to win! I have maintained the academic standards (GPA 3.1/4.00) and possess the physical attributes; size (6’2” 175 lbs), strength and speed (varsity track/300 m hurdles) to compete at the next level.
I live in beautiful Durango, Colorado. Our local Division II collegiate team, the Fort Lewis Skyhawks, has won the National Division II College Championship three times in the last 8 years . Attending their games over the years has instilled in me the competitive fire that is collegiate soccer.
My ambition is to continue to play competitive soccer for a college program. I have been working hard to fulfill my ambition. Academically, I have consistently raised my GPA since my freshman year. My physical conditioning and training have also improved: I maintain a rigorous off season training schedule that includes weight training, distance running and yoga/stretching. Last year I made the varsity track team and ran the 200/400 meter relays and the 300 meter hurdles. This winter I am playing for the Durango state championship midget hockey team I also love to white water raft, fly fish and snow board.
I intend to remain focused on my goals to insure that I am successful. I believe that I have demonstrated the athletic ability and good character which will insure that I become a positive asset to any college program and sincerely hope you will give me an opportunity to demonstrate my abilities at the next level.
