Personal Statement

Soccer has always been an extremely important part of my life, and it has been a dream of mine to advance my soccer to the best of my ability in order to play at the collegiate level. I have put forth a great effort to do so in regards to both my academic and soccer related performance. The successes that I have achieved in my career come in large part from my determination and my ability to learn and grow both as an individual and as a player. It is my hope that one day my dream will be achieved. I truly believe that with my skill-set and my willingness to grow and learn, that my goal to compete at the collegiate level will not only be achieved, but thrived upon.

I have been playing soccer since I was four years old, and never have I lost my love for it. Soccer not only has helped my athletic ability but myself as an individual. Throughout my journey as a soccer player I have always strived to be the best that I could be, always setting the the bar high. This comes in large part from my parents and the coaches that I have had over the years who have most definitely influenced the type of determined, accountable, and disciplined person that I am today.

As a player I am technically sound and accountable on both sides of the ball. My feet are a very important part of my game, in that I enjoy the passes that I deliver, shots I take, and the dribbling that I am able to execute when needed. I have a more attacking mind set however, that is not to be said that I do not have defensive qualities. Throughout my journey I have played many positions including those on the defensive line. It is because of this that I consider myself to be a quite well rounded player and therefore versatile. I have decent pace, balance and power which is improving as my muscle build is catching up to my height. I have been told that I am a coachable (from multiple coaches) player which is an important attribute to have. I am also able to adapt to the situations that I may be thrown into which is a crucial ability to possess. It is because of these qualities that I believe I will be a successful collegiate athlete.

Academically I have been excelling in the classroom for many years now. My disciplined and hardworking nature has helped me to maintain a high academic status. I will always get the business done in the classroom without any doubt, which is important as the commitment level college's require is high.

It is because of my attributes, including my desire to develop both in the classroom and on the field,  that I believe I may be a great option for your school.
