Ever since I was little, I have had aspirations of being a pro athlete. I have always had high standards for myself, whether it is playing ping-pong with my friends or taking a test. I have a strong competitive spirit and because of this I try to get better each and every day in all of the aspects of my life. What makes me a good candidate for your team is that I have goals that I want to achieve. I am willing to do whatever it takes to reach them and try to exceed them. However, I know that success won't just come on the pitch, I work hard in the classroom, and I try and build upon my character everyday. What separates me from other student-athletes is that I believe being the best is my only option. Although, I have been naturally gifted both athletically and academically, I work hard everyday and I know becoming the type of athlete I want to be requires me to commit my life to my dreams. I was recognized as the Rookie of the Year, as the only freshman, on the Grandview Varsity Soccer team (ranked as high as 12th in the country). The crux of this award is that I brought a certain work ethic and energy, that lead the team. A quality that I have that a lot of other athletes lack is size, but I also have quick feet and speed to blow past defenders, so they don't have a chance of taking the ball away from me. I also try to work on the mental part of the game including positioning, ball movement, and leadership; all of these are aspects that I try to improve upon regularly. In hindsight however, I believe it is the passion that I bring to the game that will make me a good choice for your college, and I will always put my heart into whatever someone asks me to do. Thank you for your time.
