Mario Castellanos '20 Recruiting Profile

I've been playing the sport of soccer since I was 7 years old. I grew up in a family where soccer is treasured and I grew to love the sport as well. I play goalkeeper and occasionally play on the field I can play anything you desire me too but I feel like I do the best as goalkeeper. I am a resilient person when it comes to school and on the pitch as well. I can prove my grades don't reflect what I am capable of. During my freshman year in high school I fell into a deep stress where I couldn't handle the work they gave us and I felt like I wasn't good enough. Then soccer season came around and I started doing good so I could join the soccer team. I made varsity but didn't get as much playing time since I was a freshman. When I played I made sure I shined and showed the coaches what I was capable of. I decided to try out for the San Jose Earthquakes Academy but they unfortunately didn't call me in. This year my grades are looking better than freshman year. I wish to join a good college and play for their varsity soccer team meanwhile excelling in class and focusing on my major. I believe coaches would want me on their team because I am a team player, I am resilient whenever the score is not in our favor you will never see me give up. I will always support my teammates on and off the field. I wish to get scouted fresh out of college and join a professional soccer team. I wish to get excelling grades in college and play varsity soccer as a starting goalkeeper.
