Going to college and playing a sport has always been my dream since I was a young kid. Now, I have found playing and excelling at the game of lacrosse to be one of my best opportunities to play in college. Lacrosse is a sport I have grown to really love. Academically, I have always been interested in the medical field and history. In the medical field, becoming a physician, surgeon, or an athletic trainer has always been a goal of mine. I chose these fields of academics because I like to help others recover from an injury or illness. If I do not select the field of medicine, I have always loved history. I am highly interested in military history, but also ancient civilizations such as Greece and China. No matter what I choose, I know I will find a career I love and a job in which I will be advancing the progress of society.
As for lacrosse, I discovered it my 8th grade year and have not found an activity as exciting or demanding as this sport. I am very strong passing, catching, and cradling with both hands. I have quick feet, I'm fast running the field, and have great endurance. I have lacrosse IQ, I'm smart on and off the ball, and good at sliding from the crease and adjacent the ball. I am also very good at one on ones, lead my team in ground balls, and I'm vocal on the field. I admire the sport of lacrosse, and having the opportunity to play in college has been a goal of mine since last year. No matter if I play DI or DIII, I know I will be having fun and leading a team to successful seasons.
What sets me apart from other recruits and what makes me a good candidate for teams is my attitude, hard work, and passion. Whether it is on the field or in the classroom, I am a leader through my words and actions, and that has led to three successful years in academics and athletics in high school. I have started all 4 years of playing lacrosse and have had the privilege of being captain for 3 of them. I love commanding a team and leading them to victory, and I look forward to the responsibility and pressure that comes with it. I have a passion for the game and have a lot of fun playing it with my friends or even with my little brother in our backyard. I am disciplined, determined, and dedicated to my team in practice and games, and work hard either in lifting weights and running early in the morning. The final attribute that sets me apart is that I cannot take losing. It is a part of life that offers the best lessons, but when it comes to lacrosse I will not be beat one on one and I will always work to put myself and team on the winning side. I love the sport of lacrosse and leading my team to victory. The opportunity of playing lacrosse in college and getting a great education is something I will work and believe in myself for. I know I can achieve anything I set my mind to.
