Personal Statement

Lacrosse has been the biggest part of my life ever since my freshman year and I don't want that to stop, I love the sport more than anything and it has gotten me through so much. It has become the center point of my life, everything revolves around it and its what I look forward to doing everyday. This sport coming into my life has changed me for the better in every aspect, physically and mentally. My school work has drastically improved due to my dream to play collegiate lacrosse as well.

The first time I picked up a stick freshman year I fell head over heels for the sport. I went out and bought a stick immediately and played everyday with my brother. My passion for the sport has kept growing and thriving. There is nothing I would rather do at any given moment than be on the field competing my heart out.

From starting JV as a freshman my very first year playing, to starting Varsity my sophomore year, then becoming the star defender as well as the defensive leader junior year, and now to playing on All American and VA top 22 teams; I don't see myself without this sport in my life.

Club Information

  • Seasons of Club Experience
  • 6 seasons
  • 2014 Alexandria Travel White (Varsity AA)
  • Star defender and defensive leader, utility player. Go to player to take the ball away and to defend the star mid fielders on opposing teams. After participation in the NOVA shootout I was selected to participate in the All Star game on the first day of the tournament, June 27th.
  • 2014 Brine All-American National Lacrosse Classic team Washington D.C. (All-American)
  • I participated in the Brine National Lacrosse Classic Tryouts for the Washington DC team on June 1, 2014 and I made the team. I played under # 9 for the Washington DC team in the Brine National Lacrosse Classic in Germantown, MD, June 30-July 3, 2014. In our bracket we faced Minnesota, Connecticut, Buffalo and Pennsylvania teams. I was selected for the all star team. Unfortunately, due to thunderstorms and game delays we did not get to play the all star game.
  • 2014 S.M.A.R.T. Lax (Varsity A)
  • My personal trainer and mentor Kenny Carrington was the head coach of this team. This was a young team and I was by far the most experienced and strongest player. I was the star defender and the go to takeaway defender. At my LSM position I would play defense as well as settled offense. I was the go to dodger and creator on offense as well. I took the vast majority of the faceoffs too.
  • 2014 WAVELAX top 22
  • I was nominated by my HS head coach Geoff Hill to participate int the WAVELAX tryouts for the opportunity to play against the top 22 players from Maryland, the Freestate team. After the first round tryout of 88, I made the first cut to 44. The tryout of 44 was held at Georgetown University. I was selected to be on theWAVELAX final roster of 22 to play against Freestate Maryland. We played Freestate on July 26th. Freestate beat us 13-10.
  • 2013 Alexandria Travel White (Varsity AA)
  • Played with the Graduating seniors as a Junior. I acted as the star LSM, go to faceoff midfielder, go to ball carrier and transition player.
  • 2013 S.M.A.R.T. Lax (Varsity AA)
  • A large number of high school players from my High school Team West Potomac were apart of this team. Played close defense along side two rising seniors which created strong defensive chemistry. The team dominated all summer tournaments we attended.

Training

  • SMART Training, Kenny Crrington
  • 1 year
  • Kenny Carrington has become my personal trainer and mentor. I began training with him in the weight room as well on the field at the start of my 2013 summer. He trains the star players on my high school team, me being one of them along with 3 others who are all midfielders. Along with a large number of other athletes. I started varsity my sophomore year without his assistance and with only my second year of lacrosse experience; although, he has turned me into the star player and because of him I was listed as the most dangerous defender on every opposing teams scouting report.
