Addison Irwin '18 Recruiting Profile

Since the 8th grade, it has been my dream to play lacrosse and pursue an engineering degree. I offer something unique beyond my physical size. I understand the benefits of teamwork, leadership, and competing with character and dignity. As a goalie and captain of the defense, I truly believe that my confidence and success sets the tone of each game defensively and I expect my efforts to be reflected by those of my teammates. I use my physical presence to dominate the game. My leadership goes well beyond the lacrosse field and into the school and my community. I had the opportunity to student-coach and was selected by my former coach to help out with his summer camp program. My personal goals are to contribute to the leadership and success of my high school team as we rebuild from the loss of sixteen seniors and transition into our new coach. As a freshman and a sophomore playing on a varsity team with a strong class of players, I learned how to play a supporting role that grew into responsibilities of a starter.  Through my hard work and dedication to the team, I earned their respect and gained their life-long friendship...which for me is the best part of playing lacrosse. Now as a Junior and starting goalie, I enjoy mentoring the sophomore and freshmen goalies to ensure we all contribute to the overall success of the team's achievements.
