I am looking for a college that offers great academics and a challenging lacrosse program. By the end of my college experience my goal is to graduate on the Dean's list with a degree that will set me up to go into graduate school to pursue physical therapy.
What sets me apart from other players is that even though I may not be the biggest, I have found that I can always out work them. In addition I've been playing since third grade and since that time I have played for five different club teams. From this experience I have learned many different coaching styles and offenses which has helped to develop a very strong lacrosse IQ. In seventh grade I was the first player in Nazareth Youth Lacrosse history to make the Lehigh Valley All-Star team. By the beginning of eighth grade, the Nazareth varsity head coach was already talking to me about playing varsity as a freshman.
However, in the middle of my eighth grade year, my family moved to Ridgewood, New Jersey. This move was the beginning of a strong personal growth experience. While the Nazareth lacrosse program was less than ten years old, Ridgewood's lacrosse program had been around for the last 35 years. The Ridgewood Freshman Team had 36 players on it, and I was an unknown. I quickly worked my way up the depth chart and saw more and more playing time as the season went on. Having to prove myself all over again taught me that you are never too talented to have to work hard to achieve your goals. At the end of my freshman season, the varsity head coach selected me to play for the Ridgewood summer club team. This experience has taught me to be goal-oriented and I have carried that over to my academics.
I am looking forward to playing this game that I am so passionate about at the collegiate level.
