Laurence "Kody" Swann '15 Recruiting Profile

My name is Laurence Swann, my family and friends call me "Kody". I attend high school at Maurice J. McDonough high school in Charles County Maryland, where lacrosse is taking off. The phrase "grow the game" is brought to life here, as many new athletes join the game every year. As each season comes to a close I notice major improvements in my game as well as the skills of my team mates. As a team captain it makes me proud of the improvements we have made together and as individuals. We may not win every game but we will get better every game. I have played since 7th grade and have loved the game of lacrosse since. But even after all these years I am still a student of the game, you can always learn more. I love to learn both on and off the field, and I take pride in considering myself to be coachable. I believe being coachable is key to being successful, because you can learn a great deal from others. Coaches, whom are spending their valuable time on me, could be doing something else, but have instead dedicated themselves to helping me become a better player and better person through the lessons they teach. I myself have several coaches from when I was much younger that if I were to see today, we could talk for hours. I also credit myself with being a responsible and intelligent young man. I have always maintained a high G.P.A, I stay out of trouble, and enjoy setting both short and long term goals for myself and my team. While in college I wish to gain the best possible education,and also hopefully play a sport. This could inspire me to accomplish great things and possibly even inspire others to do so as well.
