Personal Statement
My name is Chase Kaufman. I am from Atlanta, GA, but I go to a boarding school in Virginia called Fork Union Military Academy (FUMA). Fork Union is an all male prep military school in Fork Union, VA. As a freshman I played varsity and was second string attack. Even though there was no JV team I was still happy to be exposed to the next level. This year Fork Union is incorporating a JV program which I will be a swing playing both levels. This summer I went to many camps and this fall I will play travel for Charlottesville Thunder. I am currently maintaining a 3.1 GPA which I am trying to improve.
Academically I am trying to reach a 3.5 by the end of my sophomore year. Athletically I am trying to double all my stats from last year.
Fork Union is a military school which means there is a rank system. I currently hold the rank of SGT which means I control not only myself but a hallway of 20 other people. Holding rank teaches me leadership and character, two very important things on the athletic field.
In the off season I run cross country and wrestle which I am successful in both.
