Christian ("CJ") Hassan '16 Recruiting Profile

Hi, my name is CJ Hassan and I go to Gulliver Preparatory School in Miami, Florida. I have been playing lacrosse and football competitively since the sixth grade and continue to excel in both sports. I have been playing as midfielder for the Varsity lacrosse team since ninth grade where I was named Rookie of The Year, scoring 19 goals and 11 assists. As a sophomore, I had more of a leadership position even though we had 8 seniors. I was able to score 34 goals and 23 assists and was awarded the Rising Star of the Year along with Second Team All-Dade County by the Miami Herald. My teammates and my coaches trust me. They know how knowledgeable I am about the game and are confident enough with my abilities to ask me to play attack or even base defense in a moment of need. This year, as a Junior, I was named team captain and scored 49 goals with 34 assists. It was my goal to lead my team to a district championship and my teammates and I did just that. We won the district championship and made it to the semifinal regionals. I was named 1st Team All District, 1st Team All County, and 1st Team All Region. Being the eldest of four has really allowed me to improve my leadership skills. I set the bar high all the time by working hard and people follow my lead. I'm all about quality and I try to do everything to the best of my abilities. As a football player, I work out in the hot Miami summer and I am used to the grueling work we have to endure. Playing football has greatly contributed to the way I play lacrosse, on the defensive and offensive side of the field. My football training, including improved footwork, my ability to hit people, and my speed have made me stand out among lacrosse players. I have been able to adapt, and bigger kids do not intimidate me at all. I take my academics seriously. I have a 3.71 cumulative GPA and have a fairly rigorous academic schedule. I take all honors courses including Physics and Pre-Calculus. I have recently taken the SAT and ACT tests and hope to get my result soon. A couple of my favorite classes are Entrepreneurship and Architecture and I am hoping to study Business or Engineering in college. On my spare time I enjoy biking and boating. I love fishing, spear fishing and I value the time I spend with my family and friends.
