Athletics have been a major part of my life for as long as I can remember. Whether it has been the football fields, basketball court, or at a wrestling meet, what I have learned from sports has shaped my life.
My parents have always told me that if you do not have the grades, then you will never be able to play at the next level. Although I was not sure what sport I wanted to play in college till I started lacrosse 2 years ago, I have always known that I did not want my athletic career to end after senior year of High School, which is why I push myself in school and on the field. I want to choose that will allow me to reach my full potential as a student-athlete. My plans in college is to graduate with a degree in biology and apply to medical school to continuing my life as either an anesthesiologist or radiologist. I believe my time management skills will allow me to take on hard classes without having trouble dealing with my athletics as well.
My family has given me the tools to succeed in life. One of the things my dad has preached to me time and time again is that your character is who you are when everything goes wrong. He has always told me that it is not about the mistake, but it is about how you handle the mistake and being accountable for it. My mom talks about compassion and treating others the way you want to be treated.
I have been blessed in life to have the chance to travel the world with my family. I have been to countries such as Tanzania, Rwanda, Costa Rica, etc. This gives me a different kind of perspective on life and a different appreciation for my country and the opportunities my mom and dad have given me. I do not take it for granted
