I put on my first pair of skates when I was five. Now I’ve been playing for thirteen years. I have grown up loving hockey and have worked as hard as I could to improve my skills and win. Growing up playing and watching hockey made me dream of playing in college and playing in the NHL. When I saw NCSA it made me realize that my dreams could come true.
I started playing goalie when I was eight and haven’t looked back. I learned early how important my position as a goalie was to my team and teammates. I take that seriously. I know how important it is to prepare for the game, get enough sleep and follow through with everything to play as well as I can, not let my teammates down. I always encourage my teammates to do the best they can, the same as what I expect of myself.
I have been playing or practicing hockey year round for several years. I work to become a better goalie by taking advantage of play opportunities outside of my usual teams and by working on my agility and strength. I also try to stay in shape in the summer by playing other sports like baseball and wakeboarding.
I’ve had obstacles. My house had to be sandbagged several years because of flooding and we finally had to move - twice in the last two years. I found out in HS that I had ADHD. I could always focus on my sports but my grades were suffering. My grades have improved since learning about and sticking to my program.
I’m looking forward to playing more hockey at the next level and hope you’ll consider adding me to your team.
