My name is Jake Bromen, there's one thing I love and it's the sport of hockey. I've been playing hockey for about 14 years, it has been one of my best experiences and holds the most memorable moments of my life.
Since I was little, all I wanted was to be playing for the NHL, well doesn't every kid?!
I've always worked my way at trying to be the best that I can be, skate as fast as I can, and be as coachable as possible, so that I know what I'm not doing right and that I can fix it, then go back out there and make a play, or score a goal.
All my life I've played with athletes that were older or more experienced than me, I have been on teams that have gone to Lake Placid and Canada and won tournaments there, this wasn't just given to me, I had to work hard for that role, I had to work even harder for the spot that was above me, striving to be on the starting line and then go to play maker.
It didn't matter who was on my line, because I knew who ever was my center and right wing, that I would set them up and make a play, or get open for them to make a play. I'm a dedicated person to the game, all I do is look forward to getting better, and accomplishing what I can to get to the next level.
With this hard work and dedication I was selected to play on teams such as National Reebok for 2 years coached by Stephen Yurichuk as well as on other Tier 1 or AAA teams at Minnesota Made, Show Case Hockey and skills clinics at the National Sports Center, Acceleration Minnesota, and one on one shooting clinics with Scott Bjugstad.
I struggled with grades because I didn't think that they would be as important as they are, but I've been working as hard as I can to get them up, which leads to studying, and doing homework everyday when I come home from school. I will put forth my best effort in college on keeping my grades high because college is the real world, you actually have to try to get somewhere. I know that practice makes perfect. Crosby isn't where he is today because he just likes hockey, he loves it, and he dedicates himself to it to be the best that he can be, which is what I am, dedicated to hockey. I practice as hard as I can, to the best of my ability, because I know that it will pay off, I will get better as well as be an asset to your club.
Thank you for your time to hear me talk about me and how I love the game of hockey.
