At an early age I was exposed to the sport of hockey, both watching the game on TV and/attending games. This early exposure made me realize hockey was a sport I wanted to play. I have no idea where my playing career will lead me however I know I my love for the game will keep me close to the rink.
My early years consisted of the "learn to skate" program. I enjoyed this ice time and at the completion of each session, I left wanting more. Through the years my passion for hockey has always existed, playing Mite, Squirt, PeeWee, Bantam and eventually High School. Through my Mite, Squirt and PeeWee years, I was never placed on the top team in my association. I never let this get me down, I used it as motivation to continue to compete and get better. I used this opportunity to be a leader on each team. Each off-season, I trained to give myself the best opportunity for the following year. My final year of association hockey, my hard work finally paid off as I made the top team. (Bantam AA)
Leading up to my sophmore year of high school, I attended MAP hockey training. Through this training, I pushed myself on a weekly basis, lifting, stick handling and on ice play. My sophomore year of high school, I skated primarily with the 2nd line and sometimes 1st line. The team enjoyed some post-season success and I look forward on continuing to build off this success the next two years. I ended the season with 5 goals and 9 assists.
I am a team first player who is willing to work hard at every practice, every shift of every game. I always come to the rink with a postive attitude. I am willing to accept whatever role the coach feels is necessary. Because of my love for the game, I appreciate every opportunity I get to lace up the skates.
As mentioned above, I have no idea where my playing career will lead me however I know I will work hard to get the most out of my abilities.
