I have played hockey all my life and look forward to continuing to play hockey in college. I have the skills, work ethic and desire to be successful both on and off the ice.
I am currently a junior at Blaine H.S. My GPA is 3.5. I pride myself on working hard and doing well in school. In college, I am planning to major in business and would like to play hockey. I have the attributes needed to be a great hockey player. A few things that set me apart from other hockey players -
Heart and Leadership - As one coach said, "Dylan changed the entire dynamic of our team in a very positive way, when he arrived, everyone played better". I pride myself on being a leader. I have been a team captain for many of my teams throughout my years of youth hockey.
Skills - I am very good at controlling the puck and not just giving the puck to the other team - I don't panic with the puck. Also, I can make hits when necessary without taking myself out of the play.
On Ice Vision - I am able to see the ice in ways that other players cannot. I can see where the open ice is and make solid and smart passes to my teammates.
Passing/Play Making - I like to keep it quick and simple. I think quickly on the ice and I am able to make great passes which enables me to assist and make plays happen.
Hockey Sense - 9 times out of 10, making the correct play while I am on the ice. I know where to pass the puck to have my teammates skate into the pass.
Coachable - Coaches have made that comment to me and my parents. I know that my coaches have been doing this longer than me and appreciate their advice.
Finally, I want to grow academically as well as athletically. I know at the right school and with the right coaches, I will succeed. I am looking forward to a great opportunity.
