Hockey has always been a big part of my life. My Dad, along with all four of my uncles, played high school hockey, with one of my uncles playing at the collegiate level. My Grandpa was a goalie on the 1976 Olympic team. My Mom grew up in Warroad, which of course is huge hockey community. Much of my extended family still lives up in the Warroad and Roseau area. From a very young age, I've grown up playing shinny hockey at the Warroad & Roseau rinks every chance I can. During holiday breaks and summer vacations I head to the rink with my cousins. The rinks are always open and the ice is free! I have been able to meet many great hockey players during my visits and time in Warroad and Roseau, which has been pretty special. One of my favorite players being TJ Oshie. I have been inspired by the many stories I've heard.
My goal is to play college hockey for a division 1 school, one with a rich hockey tradition and lots of academic opportunities. I believe my biggest attributes to my team are my work ethic and positive, coachable attitude. Character and sportsmanship are something my parents have always stressed and I think that sets me apart from other players I've played against. Hockey-wise my strengths are my quick feet, skating ability, and seeing the ice. It's always been important to me to play other sports, not just hockey. I think it's paid off by helping with my foot speed, hand-eye coordination, and staying mentally fresh.
