My goals for college are to get a good education so that I can become a teacher. I would like to play school sports while I'm in college in order to meet new people and make life long friends with teammates. The experience you get playing college sports would make your time at college more enjoyable. For example having a team to play a sport with and even just to hangout sometimes would be a very good way to sometimes take your mind off of school and help you relax a bit.
I think what makes me a good candidate for a team would be that I am a team first guy. I would rather see my team do well then have me personally do well. I'm a good leader and I feel like I get along with people too. I'm easy to talk to, I make people feel comfortable and like to make them feel part of the team if they feel excluded.
Some things that set me apart from others is the fact that I can play multiple sports. I have played volleyball, badminton, and done track at my high school. I set a provincial record in discus when I was in grade 10. (40.32 meters) I won provincials my grade 11 year as well where I threw 46.60 meters. I competed at the Western Canadian Track and Field Championships where I placed 3rd in the discus and 5th in the hammer throw. Also I play a lot of hockey. We practice twice a week for an hour and a half each time and usually play 2-3 games each week and on some occasions 4 games a week. I was drafted in the WHL by the Everett Silvertips and in the MJHL by the Winkler Flyers in 2012. Also in that year I made it to the Top 26 at the Team Manitoba U16 tryouts.
Academically I'm an 80 percent student. Since I am so busy with sports I don't get to put as much work into my schooling as I would like to. I hope to spend more time studying in college. I plan to write the ACT test in February.
