Personal Statement

I am a hard working individual who is not afraid to take risks, both on the ice, as well as in the class room.  For the previous two years (2013-2015) I was the captain of my college prep boarding school hockey team. In my senior year, I was an RA (resident assistant) as well. I thrive in a position of responsibility and I relish the opportunity to be a role-model for my teammates.

I am a left shooting defenseman/forward; skilled on both ends of the ice. Although a defenseman for most of my career, I am currently playing center with my tier II Junior Hockey team. My game is about seeing the ice, making quick decisions and smart choices and transitioning quickly from defense to offense, often with a quick-up pass to my forwards and other times stick handling my way out of sticky situation. I play hard along the boards and smart, positional hockey. When playing center, I am defensively responsible as my history as a defenseman has heavily influenced my game.

I strive to attain excellence in my academic studies, and I work hard to realize that desire. As much as I am focused on achieving my academic goals, my true passion is ice hockey. I know that I am going to play in college, and I look forward to dedicating myself to my new team. I spent four years at Fountain Valley School as a starting, varsity defenseman, and I am excited to bring that dedication, passion, and new skill set as on offenseman to a new team of brothers. I am a very approachable person, on and off the ice, which allows me to take constructive feedback and progress my game to the next level.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
