Matthew Bachmann '16 Recruiting Profile

My name is Matthew Bachmann and I am a Junior at Sheboygan Falls High school. I have been playing golf since I was 3, and in competitions since I was about 7. Although my years are starting to add up, I have not even come close to losing my love for the game. It's my dream to continue to take my game to the next level, and that begins with finding the right college academically, and athletically for myself. I am currently maintaining a Cumulative 3.7 GPA with a 3.97 for 2014/15 school year, and am a part of The Future Business Leaders of America club at our school. Thus, Academics will play a large role in my future decisions.

Being from Wisconsin I know a lot about making the most of my time. Essentially, there are about 5 solid months to golf in. That however, does not slow down my commitment to getting better. I actually really enjoy going out in the cold and playing, which not only does it let me stay sharp, but it builds my mental toughness, and lets me get used to poor conditions. Over winter I hit indoors as much as possible, and workout about 5 times a week. I believe winter is not the time for a break, but actually a time to get stronger and progress even more.

Although I am proud of my accomplishments as of now, I know there is still a ways to go before reaching my goal of playing high level D1 golf. I am committed 100% towards working hard enough to obtain my goals, and continue to grow as not only a golfer, but a young adult. In college I would like to major in either Business Management or Marketing. I am looking not only for a quality golf team, but also a quality business school that will give me the opportunity to succeed off the course as well as on.
