Personal Statement

I have been playing golf since I was nine years old and have been playing in competitive local and regional tournaments for the past six years. I have played in both Minnesota and Wisconsin Junior PGA tournaments and qualifiers and have played in regional tournaments through the Future Collegians World Tour for the past two years, improving my score each year in this tour and the Junior PGA events. Last year, as a sophomore, I placed 6th at the Wisconsin state high school golf tournament in division 3 with scores of 79 and 75. My goals at the present time are to work hard on my grades, score well on my ACT, and to remain consistent and focused in my golf game. I believe I am a well-rounded and determined individual. I have adjusted and responded to various coaching styles in the sports I have participated in during my high school career which have been basketball and golf. I really enjoy practicing and spending time with my team mates. I believe I am a good candidate for a college golf team because I am very determined, I do not give up and I am constantly thinking about how to improve my game. I am extremely competitive in most everything I do and am willing to do what it takes to succeed and win the game that I am playing. This is especially evident in golf by how much I practice; both on and off the course I study the game. In academics I have been working hard to raise my grades to a higher level. I plan to continue to work just as hard on my grades and school work as I do on the golf course. I am most interested in biology, have done well in advanced biology courses and hope to pursue a career in this field or in golf course management or landscape design.

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
