Hello, I am Brady Sarauer. This coming fall, I will be a junior at St. Mary's Springs Academy. I have grown up on a golf course, and I have played golf for as long as I can remember. I enjoy every minute that I spend around the game of golf, and I would love to extend my competitive golf career onto the college level at a school with a great golf program and a great academic reputation.
This past golf season, as a sophomore, I was named Honorable Mention All-State, First Team All-Conference, and Team MVP. I was also named team captain, a reflection of my leadership. I was the medalist at the Oakfield Regional held at Rolling Meadows Golf Course with a 72. I followed that up by taking medalist honors at the Kohler Sectional held at Blackwolf Run with a 74 to advance to the WIAA Division 3 State Tournament as an individual. At the State Tournament, I shot 81-77 to take tied for eleventh for Division 3. My golf season does not stop at the end of the high school season. During the summer and fall, I play in Wisconsin Junior PGA tournaments, Wisconsin State Golf Association (WSGA), Mid-American Junior Golf Tour (MAJGT) tournaments, and I plan to play American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) tournaments next summer. My lowest competitive round is a 70 at Beaver Dam Country Club in a Wisconsin Junior PGA Junior Tour event. Another one of my best competitive rounds came at a Wisconsin Junior PGA Players Tour event at The Bog, where I shot a 71 from 6,709 yards. Along with a steady schedule of tournaments, during the summer, I practice every day. When I practice, I always practice with a purpose. I never leave the golf course until I have accomplished what I wanted to, and I believe that my work ethic and determination are the factors of my continued improvement. I believe that by next summer, I can get my handicap below 1 and hopefully to scratch.
Academics and community service are also very important to me. I maintain a 4.08 non-weighted GPA , and I am in all of the advanced courses offered for my class at St. Mary’s Springs. I have been on the High Honor Roll every semester of my high school career. I am also an active member of Key Club, a club dedicated to community service. This past year, I was a recipient of the Key Club Commitment to Service Award for my work benefiting the community.
I am very personable, positive, and always willing to help, which are all qualities of a good teammate. I am also very open to new ideas and viewpoints, and that makes me very coachable. I work hard and am dedicated to everything I do, which would make me a great student-athlete at the collegiate level. I hope to talk to you soon.
Thanks for your time,
Brady Sarauer
