Justin Gestout '11 Recruiting Profile

I am a low handicap golfer who has played and lettered at the varsity level since my freshman year. In addition to being a student athlete, I play in many tournaments during the summer, including junior and adult level amateur events at the local and state level as well as the Wisconsin PGA Junior Tour. My most important accomplishments include playing varsity my freshman year, making all-conference honorable mention as a sophomore, making all conference first team and team MVP as a junior and performing well during summer amateur events. I am equally proud of my academic achievements including Honor Roll and National Honor Society. As a student athlete, I am proud to represent my school at the varsity level and feel that this pride factor would definitely carry over at the collegiate level. As a junior, I assumed a leadership role on our team this year and tried to set a good example for our underclassmen participating at the varsity level. Examples of leadership include; academic excellence, practice habits, personal grooming, dress code, conduct, sportsmanship and supporting my coach. It is my strong desire to obtain a college degree and play golf at the collegiate level. I am confident in my abilities both in the classroom and on the golf course. I believe that my work ethic will continue to help me in my pursuit to become a collegiate student athlete. I would like to attend a school that provides me with a solid education in support of a degree in either but not limited to pharmacy, nursing or business. From a geographical standpoint, the Midwest may be the most logical choice of potential schools, given my residence. I am not necessarily concerned with the size of the school. My goal is to play at the highest competition level possible as a freshman as well as to be a positive influence on the team.
