As a boarding school student, I have to manage my time, maintain my grades, and work on my golf game all on my own. Through my first two and a half years I have managed to be on the honor roll and win the State of Virginia VISAA Division I tournament and place 4th in the second year.
My game continues to evolve. I am now comfortable hitting my driver 280-310. I am trying to hone in my 40-80 yard shots as they are the ones costing me the most shots right now. I work hard at my golf game and in the classroom. I believe my work ethic will serve my future team and me well.
My goal for college is to attend a school that can provide the best combination of academics and golf. I want to go to school where I can contribute in a meaningful way to the golf team. I also want to make sure that I graduate with a degree that will help me succeed professionally after college whether that is in golf or an unrelated field.
If I am given the opportunity to play for your school, I will be a contributor on the golf course and in the classroom.
A little about my golf game:
I drive the ball on average around 300 and straight. I am also long with my irons and consider my iron play to be my strength. My whole life I have been working on course management, and I continue to work on course management. That is not a problem anymore for me, but it is a large part of the game. Lately, I have been working on my wedge play with Andrew Rice. I am beginning to see significant improvements in this aspect of the game, and I feel that with more work this could become a strength of my game. My putting can be spotty at time but through hard work I am also beginning to see my putting become more consistent.
