Andrew McCracken '10 Recruiting Profile

I made my high school team as a Freshman but only played in one match. I set me goal to come back sophomore year as a starter on the team. I started taking lessons and practiced every chance I could. I played in a couple of tournaments to get experience. My hard work payed off. Sophomore year I played in every match. Finished 8th in the district and 10th in the region. I qualified to play at the State championship as an individual. I was awarded "Most Improved Player" by my coach. After the high school season I had two wins and a second place finish with EJGA in North Carolina. My swing coach started making some changes to my swing and that added strokes to my scores. In addition, I grew about 4 inches so had I had to adjust to my new body. My scores went up but they have started coming back down again. Junior year was good with a 7th place finish in FCWT. I was awarded MVP from my high school coach. It has been my dream to play college golf. I hope to play for a coach who is highly structured and competitive. I would like to play in the South. I think am a good fit for DII and want to play for a team that I can make an impact on. I can shoot low scores, I just haven't been consistent yet. I just finished 2nd in both my high school district and region and advance to the state tournament in Moneta, Virginia as an individual.
