My name is Mason Scott and I am a junior at Sherando High School. I have been playing Varsity golf at Sherando for 3 years and I started my competitive golf career the year before my freshman year in high school.
Golf is very important to me, but I am a strong believer that getting a quality education is crucial for achieving a successful career. My goal is to attend a college that will give me the skills necessary to accomplish many things.
Improving on my God given talent to play the game of golf is the sole reason I wake up in the mornings. In my eyes, my focus for high school golf is team first. My mindset is along the lines of, "How can I improve myself to my best abilities to help my team?" As for the individual aspect of golf, my goal is to beat my previous scores and play golf at the highest level. I believe becoming a "better" golfer is not something that is ultimately achieved; becoming better is something that I am always chasing, because you can always become better.
I want to be able to earn my education as well as achieve my goals in the game of golf. One such goal is to receive all the knowledge and skills required to earn myself a spot on the PGA Tour. I believe that I have the talent and work ethic to achieve that goal, and I hope I can work towards that goal at your school.
