Drew Dewald '14 Recruiting Profile

I am from Copperas Cove, Texas and my dream has always been to play sports in college. I am looking for a school with great academics as well as a great golf program. I want to be around a group of guys who are easy to get along with as well as hard-working and competitive. I want to find a coach that wants to win championships and will be honest with me about my game to help push me to my athletic limits. It is important for me to have a personal bond with my teammates and my coach, as I believe that is what builds a team. I have been working really hard the last few months and am seeing my game develop. I now shoot between 68-72 on a good day and 75-76 on an bad day and in between on an average round. I will continue to work hard on my game and continue to get better and shoot lower scores. I am about to start my senior year in high school.  I have registered with the NCAA Eligibility Center. After graduating college, I would like to pursue a career in the golf industry.  I have been playing golf since I was 6 years old and played more tournaments when I was much younger.  I have recently switched my focus from football (played QB for last 5 years on school team) solely to golf.  I am playing an aggressive junior tournament schedule to try to make up for lost time.  In the last two months I have had 7 under par rounds in tournament rounds and I have had a 72.9 tournament scoring average over my last 19 competitive tournament rounds.  I am dedicated to putting in the time over the next year to improve my game and consistency to be prepared for the college game.  My goal is a tournament scoring average under 72.5 in the next 6 month period with a higher percentage of under par rounds.  Below is a list of past tournaments to verify the tournament scoring averages as well as a list of upcoming tournaments to which I am accepted and registered.  I will update my profile and tournament scoring average as tournaments are finished.
