Cooper Faust '23 Recruiting Profile

My name is Cooper Faust, I am 18 years old, and was born in Greenville, SC, on January 28^th, 2004.  I began playing golf when I was 15 years old.  After many years of playing soccer, two injuries caused me to rethink my athletic goals.  My true passion has always been golf with the hopes of playing at the collegiate level, and remaining in the golf industry at some level, and potentially becoming a PGA Professional at some level.

I grew up in Greenville, SC where I attended Southside Christian School through the 11^th grade. In October of 2020, I made the decision to attend The Albany Golf Academy in the Bahamas to put me in the best positon possible to play golf at the collegiate level.   Currently I am in ASEA International Prep online High School and reside in The Bahamas.   At the Academy, my sole purpose is to train, play, and focus on all aspects of my game under the direction of renowned coach, Jon Hearn. 

At the Academy, I have a very rigorous schedule.  Each day I work in a self-directed environment to complete my high school classes online from 8:00 am to 12:15 pm.  After a quick lunch, I head to the practice facility where I train and or play from 1:30 pm to 6:00 pm.  I finish my day with a workout, dinner and study time.  In other words, I am “all in” in terms of both my studies as well as preparing myself in many areas. This includes everything from my physical strength, continuing to improve in all areas of my game, maintaining a good GPA, and continuing to develop in all aspects of myself as a person, player, and young man.

I attended the Academy initially in January of 2021 where I trained with my coach until I returned home to Greenville for the summer.  While I was home,  I continued to develop my skills along with playing in as many tournaments as possible all over the SouthEast.  I was fortunate to play in multiple tournaments this past summer (2021).  In August of this year, I returned to the Academy, where I continue the same study routines along with practicing, honing my swing, course management, disposition on the golf course, all while focusing on my studies to put myself in the best position possible to play at the next level.
