I was first introduced to golf by my father and grandfather at the age of five. I am so grateful for that because what they really did was introduce me to my passion. I fell in love with many aspects of golf but especially the challenges the game presents. It strengthens me as a person mentally and physically which is why I love it. I've learned many things about myself as a person through this great game. The biggest thing it's taught me is how to persevere. I've faced many difficulties along the road including "losing my swing" a few times. It was very frustrating but with perseverance I came back stronger than ever. Other skills I have developed include leadership as captain of my hockey teams several times over the years. I am also the skip on my curling team therefore I'm used to leading a team.
I have many goals for my future but the biggest short-term goal is to graduate grade 12 with a 4.0 GPA. My college goal is to graduate with a biology or science major while playing competitive golf and being part of a team. I would love the opportunity to fulfill these college goals in being a student athlete for your school.
