James Simms '12 Recruiting Profile

I am a 5'9" golfer who just moved from Little Rock, Arkansas, to Tulsa, Oklahoma.  I have been playing golf since I was 3 years old and have been playing on my school's teams since 8th grade.  Through my many years of playing golf, competitively and for fun, I have never utilized a swing coach.  I have received a number of golf awards including All State, 1st team my Sophomore and Junior year and my team's state championship title in 2010.

I realize I have started this recruiting process late, but I still want to pursue playing competitive athletics and am open to explore opportunities in all divisions. Geographically, I am not locked into any particular region.  I have a great interest in math and am hoping to pursue a career in Accounting with my future education.

Two years ago, my father became unemployed and our family has been through some bad times financially.  Therefore, I am concerned about college finances.  Choosing a school close to home is great,but I am willing to travel farther to a school with less out of pocket expenses. 

I currently have a 2.7 GPA and plan to increase that my senior year.  I am a hard worker both on the golf course and in the class room.  I have no preference to college size.  Since an Accounting degree is offered at most schools, I would love to go where I can be an active member of a golf team.
