While I enjoyed all sports growing up, baseball and golf were my two primary sports. I realized as a freshman that golf would be my long-term and lifelong sport. As a pitcher, I was confident on the mound and had great mental control. This has helped me in the game of golf. After competing in the State Championship Tournament this past spring (2013), I realized that I wanted to improve and play college golf. With the help of my golf professional and the support of my parents, I am committed, focused and working hard on making this dream a reality.
Golf is my passion. I look forward to going to the course everyday to practice and get better. Since the spring my index has improved from a 13.1 to a 4.1 and I know it will continue to get lower. My tournament scores have also improved over this time with my lowest being a 73. I know I have the ability and potential to compete with any player. I know I can compete at the collegiate level as my game will continue to get better through hard work and dedication.
My junior rankings only encompass four months of tournaments, June – September 2013. And although my junior rankings are currently not as strong as other juniors who have been playing competitive golf longer, I am focused on my improving scores and moving up in the rankings. I plan on playing a full schedule of fall and winter tournaments to continue my progress. I am excited about the spring golf season and having the opportunity to show and discuss my potential with college coaches.
