February 2015Personal Statement
I am currently a junior entering my 3rd year of varsity high school golf. I have been playing golf since I was about 3 years old. While I made varsity my freshman year, my passion of competitive golf took off during my sophomore year. Since then I have dedicated myself to achieving my goal to play collegiate golf. Up until my freshman year I played travel baseball and was on a very successful team but I made the choice to quit a sport I loved to play a sport I love even more. In addition to golf I play hockey. I have earned 2 varsity letters and played on AA travel team my freshman year.
My dedication on the golf course also carries over to the classroom. I realize that academics are just as, if not even more, important than my athletic ability. I want to major in business and plan to go to a school that offers that field of study. I always give 100% effort to improve and to become the best I can be in golf. My scoring average has improved 10 strokes from my freshman year to my sophomore summer. I know I am far from my peak.
I am excited for what to future holds for me. I am confident it will consist of collegiate golf in a school that be right for me both academically and athletically.

- Day 1: Shot 79. Weather 45 degrees, rain and 20-25 mph winds. Day 2: Shot 74. Weather 55 degrees 10-15 mph winds. Finished T- 4th 3 shots out of medalist position.

- This is our club junior championship and i fired a 69 to win. My front nine was a 31 and the back was a 38 which I was very disappointed in the way I finished a great front nine.

- Was supposed to be a 36 hole tournament. On our 18th hole (No.9) they called the tournament due to weather. I was even par thru 17 holes. I just hit my approach shot to about 10 feet. We had a player still yet to hit so they called us off the course. I won my age group by 5 strokes. There was also a Collegiate Series tournament, both guys and girls. I came in 2nd overall out of all the college players and high school players.
