Daniel Kurson '17 Recruiting Profile

Hi, my name is Daniel Kurson and I am graduating from Newton North High School in 2017.  From the time I could walk I was always interested in golf.  When I grew older, I became especially fascinated in the mental aspect of the sport and what would help me to become a better player.  This is a lifelong process but I am extremely committed and this is evident by my practicing every hour I can during the months without snow.  Last summer I attended IMG Academy in Bradenton Florida to fine tune my game.  Once I got the little kinks out of my swing it opened up a whole new world of potential for me in golf.  After breaking par for the first time, I went on to play the best golf of my life this past fall in my high school season.  I finished up ranking third in state qualifiers (73) and 15th in the state tournament (80).  What sets me apart from other recruits is that I am interested in working in the field of golf management when I graduate from college.  I believe this goal will make me work harder on and off the course because of the connection from the sport to my chosen career path.  I work hard in school and understand that I can only reach my goals if I am good student.  I hope that you will take the time to consider me for your team.  Please email me with any questions or if you need further information.  Thank you for your time!
