Henry Ford once said, "You can't build a reputation on what you're going to do." What I plan to do and what I'm doing during the present are in two different worlds that I hope can be united as I set sail into my college years.  I aspire to grow my golf game, as well as my academic studies, in order to build my reputation as a mentally tough, academically competent and mechanically sound golfer as I excel into my later years of high school and the following years on a college team. My name is Phil Colevas and I'm currently a junior at Richard Montgomery in Rockville, MD. I play the clarinet, carry out my cardiovascular and physical activities by playing basketball and put emphasis on my physical fitness and conditioning by working out and weightlifting.  On the academic front, I really enjoy learning about math and science. I currently am enrolled in a vigorous curriculum at school and thrive on the pressure to do well. I carry this pressure into my golf game and it's the reason why I push myself to new extremes. I currently play on junior tours such as the International Junior Golf Tour (IJGT), American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) and the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT). I put a lot of emphasis on playing in tournaments and enjoy doing them. During my high school years up to this point, I've earned the MVP award for my high school team and have proven this by having two top ten finishes at the Maryland Secondary Schools State Championship in my sophomore and junior years. I like the team atmosphere that comes with playing on a high school team and I hope on continuing this by playing on a college team. Where ever I’m privileged to play golf at, I feel my game has plenty of room to grow. I look forward to achieving and reaching higher levels as I approach the next stages of my golf game.
