Derek Gold '17 Recruiting Profile

I have a strong desire to play baseball at a collegiate level and this has been one of my top goals since a very young age. I am a true team player who leads by example with my attitude, work ethic and intensity on the field. I am well respected with my own teammates as well as opponents based on my skills and how I play the game. I thrive under pressure and enjoy the competition that comes with the game. I believe the thing that will separate me from many other candidates is my knowledge of the game as well as my baseball intangibles. I find ways to help my team each and every game whether it be at bat, on the field, on the base paths or even in the dugout. I believe a strong combination of skill, character and academics would make me an excellent candidate to coaches looking for a true team player!
