I have always enjoyed playing sports at a high level and my dream has been to continue that at the collegiate level. I used to excel in multiple sports, but dealing with an ankle injury that has put me through multiple surgeries in the past few years has really made me focus my competitiveness on golf. These past few years of eight ankle surgeries and grueling and painful physical therapy has taught me how to deal with many different things. I am a very competitive person who hates to lose and will practice very hard to make sure it happens very little. I always seem to play my best in tournaments because I am very focused on executing each shot. I am a very dedicated golfer and often spend most of my days in the summer on the golf course or in my backyard hitting pitch shots. This year has been my best year of golf by far and I am only looking forward to continuing to get better. My academic achievements also push me to be better at golf. I have always been at the top of my class when it comes to grades and expect myself to work hard to be in that position. I usually take challenging classes that push me to learn and validate a 4.0 GPA in some very strong classes.
My golfing skills this summer have really improved as I have competed in some larger tournaments against Division I level competition. I am a fairly long driver of the golf ball as my average drive is around 285 yards. My ball flight with my irons is higher than most and I prefer a slight draw when hitting my shots. One of my strong points this year in tournaments has been making those pressure putts inside of ten feet, and I have improved in that category as the summer has gone on. I have come to understand that the most important part of golf that needs to be practiced the most is the short game. I am excited to take my talents and competitiveness to the collegiate level and look forward to working with a strong golf coach that can further improve my game.
