Last 18 months educational growth – What I have learned the past 18 months is that I must put my education first and foremost. During my sophomore, and the beginning of my junior year, I was in two different high schools, and I put too much emphasis on ‘fitting in’ verses focusing on my education. What I learned is that I need to concentrate on the future, which includes getting an education that will prepare a career path for me.
Last 18 months Golf growth – I started playing golf at the age of 14, and became consumed with the game. If I have learned any thing, I have learned that I am a perfectionist, which can be very good and bad. I have a tendency to set high expectations for myself. I have learned that finding the right fit in a coach is very important. I want a coach that can mentor me in golf, life and that shares the same values as I have. I perform and play better under a coach that encourages and is positive verses a coach that is always mad and negative. I have played under both. I believe that golf is a momentum sport, and confidence creates positive momentum.
Educational Goals – I have two potential careers in which I am extremely passionate, golf and music. I would like to pursue an education that will support both music and golf. In golf, I would like to be a general manager of a country club, design golf courses and/or master golf course maintenance. I intend to pursue an education in both architecture and horticulture in order to best prepare me to follow through with my dream of working in the golf industry. As far as music. I am an accomplished guitarist and enjoy playing in a band. I want to further my musical education and learn more about composing/writing music.
Golf Goals – My initial goal is to join a college team that fits my skill level and personality. I want to be part of a true ‘team’ and help my teammates to win. I have not experienced true team in high school and look forward to bonding with my teammates in college. I would like to pursue a golf career on the PGA Tour. Understanding that I must first have a successful college career. I would like to align myself with a coach that can help me with the mental side of the game and take the raw talent that I have and help mold me into a PGA golfer
After spending a semester at VWC I have decided to move back to Florida with my parents. I have lived in Florida most of my life and the challenge at VWC with the weather to be able to practice and play all year was a challenge. I look forward to becoming part of a Florida College golf team. I will work 110% and bring value and enthusiasm to any team.
