William Duffie '13 Recruiting Profile

My name is William Duffie.  I am 6'4" tall and weigh 185 lbs.  I swing and putt right handed.  I have been a starter every year since 6th grade.  My freshmen year of high school, I made the starting line-up (top 6) that consisted of myself, four seniors and a junior.  Our team consisted of 18 golfers and we had to qualify for each tournament..  Our high school golf teams are very competitive and expected to compete in the state tournament each year   I have a very friendly personality and have always been able to fit in with my piers and the older team mates.  My sister plays college golf and is two years older than I am.  I have also played on some of the junior tours in many locations when my parents could take me.  I enjoy the challenge of new courses and the experience they bring and the people I meet.  I have always expected to play college golf and really look forward to it.   There is a college tournament in our home town every year and I go and talk to the players and watch to see what I can learn.  These last two years of school, I will be our number one golfer and know that I have to set the bar for the rest of the team.   I have also tried talking with the young golfers at our club trying to help and encourage them.  I was lucky to have older golfers mentor me, now it is my turn.
