My name is Joaquin Trigueros, I'm seventeen years old and I was born in Argentina but moved to the United states at the age of three. When I was two I discovered golf as my father bought me a plastic set of clubs, I would play with the plastic set of clubs and hit the plastic ball around the rail road tracks where my grandfather worked. When we moved to the United States in 2000 I didn't practice much since I didn't have an actual set of clubs until my father bought my a little five wood from U.S Kids gold. I was obsessed with that golf club, It was my only club so I putted and hit bunker shots with it, when I turned six I got my first full set of clubs for Christmas and that very summer I started going to Mike Simmons' golf camp in the Miccosukee Golf and Country Club, Mike taught me the fundamentals of the game but most importantly taught me sportsmanship, we were always well mannered in the camp even in tournaments we would participate in they would tell Mike that he raised well manner and good golfing players. I now work for Mike and teach kids in the camp how to play golf and the fundamentals that Mike taught me. As the years went on and I grew up I started realizing I wanted to do something with golf, I wanted to become something and someone because of golf. Ever since I was little I loved golf and now my passion is and always will be golf, I entered high school freshman year in Belén Jesuit and I realized that that school just wasn't for me and that I needed a new start, so I moved to Christopher Columbus H.S. midway through Sophmore year, the change was very noticeable as my new classmates welcomed me with open arms and I felt part of the school. I want to continue my golf career in college and make it my living and what drives me each day. My ultimate goal is to be the best golfer and win the Masters and help find a cure for breast cancer, those people who suffer from breast cancer and cancer in general are an inspiration and we should help to fund a cure for them so they can see their loved ones. My friend's mom is a breast cancer survivor and I admire that woman for her fortitude and her determination, I believe we should all have that determination.
