As a senior at Brighton high school, I have accomplished many feats in my four years of high school. I've been playing golf specifically for 6 years now and was coached by my father and grandfather for the first two years. After I began my high school career, Norm Pawlowski, the head high school coach, became the main coach for another 2 years. Within the 4 years of playing golf at Brighton high, I went from being a junior varsity golfer to varsity captain and went from shooting high 90's to low 70's, over a 20 stroke improvement in the course of 4 years.
I started high school as a three sport athlete, but due to my focus changing between my 10th and 11th grade years I began to concentrate solely on golf. Ever since I can remember, distance has been my biggest asset to the game. I hold the long drive record at Kennedy Golf Course at 387 yards. Also early in this year I set my career low score at Coyote Creek Golf Course with a 69, par 71. My distance I know has paid off I've played many courses at college lengths (over 7200 yards) and still score well. Since the beginning of high school I've become an imperative part to the demanding victory we achieved this year in our conference as well as the captain of the squad.
Everyday I've wished that I could go to a college where 300 days of sunshine is average. I've decided early on that I want to major in civil engineering where it is offered, but any sort of engineering I would love to do as a profession. RIght now as a senior in high school, the dream of playing college golf has always been there. But education comes first and engineering, working with numbers and building models has always been a passion of mine. A college with a lot of students sounds like a good place to be, somewhere that it takes 5 minutes to know someone new and I can always find new people to get to know better. I'm open to any and all options, not necessarily Division 1 or Division 2 schools. I just strive to be the best I can be, in athletics and academics, and that philosophy has carried me high throughout my 4 years of Brighton High School.
