Dear Coach,

I was told to get in touch with you regarding your golf program. My instructor is Shane LeBaron
from the Plane Truth Golf Academy at the Wig Wam Resort. Please read my letter and look at my recent press releases.

Thanks for looking at my profile on the NCSA web site. I am interested in learning about your golf program. My goal is to play golf for a great school. I have played in various local, regional, and national events. I play and practice every day at the Wig Wam Resort in Litchfield Park, AZ. I also work twice a week with the Plane Truth Golf Academy at the Wig Wam Golf Resort. I currently have a .09 handicap, and I have a 4.05 GPA at Millennium High School in Goodyear, AZ. I just completed the Arizona High School Division 1 State Championship tournament and I took 8th place. I am also an All State Arizona Player. I was the low medalist (3 under par) at the West Valley Cup, and won a couple other events this past fall. Here are a couple of articles from the local paper about my recent success:

I also just shot a final round 66 to win another High School Invitational on September 21, 2012. You can track and see my results for the completed season for the following events:

( I Just completed the Rocky Mountain Jr. Tour Championship and the end of December and took 6th place with a score of 1 over Par)

I have played in various AJGA events and play a full schedule in the Ping Player Swing as well as the Arizona Golf Association, and other regional and national events.

Glendinning took medalist honors both days, shooting 34 and 35, leading the Tigers to the championship in the West Valley Cup. Mike Russo sports editor Millennium's stranglehold on the West Valley Cup continues. The Tigers won the season-opening, stroke-play tournament for the ninth consecutive year earlier this week, defeating its sister schools in the Agua Fria Union High School District - Agua Fria, Desert Edge and Verrado. Millennium shot 152 the opening day at Tuscany Falls Golf Course and followed up with a 164 the second day at Palm Valley Golf Club. "Palm Valley was a longer and tougher course," Millennium coach James Lotts said, explaining the higher second-day score. The 316 total was 31 strokes ahead of runner-up Verrado. Desert Edge was third at 413, while Agua Fria did not post a score since it had only three golfers. Four golfers are required to register a team score. "It's great we got off to a good start," Lotts said. "The guys were a little disappointed, but the 164 was two strokes off a state-qualifying score. I'm happy where we are right now. We have eight really strong golfers who will help us this year." Foremost among that group of eight during the West Valley Cup was Austin Glendinning, who shot rounds of 34 and 35 in taking medalist honors both days. The scores were 2-under and 1-under par, respectively. "Austin played really well," Lotts said. "He's off to a good start. Austin had four birdies on the second day. He was 3-under par at one point in the round." Glendinning, who was the medalist on both of the final two days of last year's three-day West Valley Cup competition, just missed qualifying for the Division I individual state tournament last year. "Austin played a lot of summer tournaments," Lotts said. "He traveled all over the state to compete. He had a good summer. He came back and is basically a scratch golfer. This should, be a very good year for him." Millennium's No. 2 golfer was senior Justin Ray, who shot a 39-39 - 78. "The second day's score was a state-qualifying score," Lotts said. "He should have a great year. He has been a steady player since he started." Senior Tanner Bowring turned in the third-best performance for Millennium. He shot 40-43 - 83. West Valley View - Email Updates "Tanner did well," Lotts said. "He had a couple of hiccups but hung on." Calvin Van Ness, a sophomore, recorded rounds of 39 and 50. "The 39 was great for him," Lotts said. "He had a tough second day. He could do some good things for us this year." Vincent Santoterra, a transfer from Gilbert Mesquite, has entered the tournament having earned the No. 3 spot during team challenges. He shot 42-47 - 89. "Vincent struggled a bit," Lotts said. "He didn't even play golf last year at Mesquite. He has very limited golf experience but he came in and qualified No. 3 for us. He is tall and lanky. He hits the ball well and manages his game well." Deep team In addition to the quintet that played in the tournament, Millennium has a trio of other options in juniors Dillon Courtwright and Jarrod Ray, a junior and Justin's younger brother, and Caleb Brantley. While Millennium has a deep team, it would have been that much stronger had Derrick Ghim not transferred to Chandler High School for his senior year. "That was a big loss," Lotts said. "He had qualified for state for three straight years. He did great things for us." Lotts is hoping that winning the West Valley Cup will serve as a springboard to the team qualifying for the Division I state tournament. "We haven't been able to qualify for state as a team under the new format," Lotts said. "We're all very focused on qualifying for state as a team this year, especially since it is not in Tucson this year; it is at Aguila [Golf Course]." Mike Russo can be reached by email at [email protected].
