My name is Patrick Gobran, I am an 18 year old junior golfer and a 2013 grad of St. Francis Xavier High School in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, looking to begin post-secondary studies in Fall 2014. I am very fortunate to currently be attending the Gary Gilchrist Golf Academy in Florida this winter - for the months of October and November - as part of their Post Graduate program. I began playing golf when I was about 12 and began playing tournament golf the summer of 2012. My current RCGA handicap is +0.5, with the strongest aspect of my game being my iron play, as well as my distance off the tee. The weakest part of my game would be my chipping. This summer I played a full schedule of tournaments in Alberta and across Canada, with a scoring average of 75.0 - down over 4 strokes from last season - including multiple tournament wins, under par rounds, and top finishes. Some of my 2013 and career highlights include:
I have written my SAT, scoring 1890/2400 total and had a high school GPA of about 3.7/4.0. I achieved honors in every year of schooling (Grade 1-12) as well as a “Principles Award” in 9th grade for academic excellence.
In taking this year off of school, I am hoping to improve my golf game as well as to get more tournament experience and exposure by playing tournaments in the US on larger tours, in order to achieve my goal of playing college golf in America.
