Hi, my name is Gable Smith. I am a 6'7" 175 lb. Sr guard for Lodi High School in Lodi Wisconsin with a 6'10 wingspan. This is my 3rd High School since my Freshman year due to family changes. I attended Oregon High School in Wisconsin as a Freshman (started JV point guard), Meeker High School in Colorado as a Sophomore (started Varsity point guard) and Lodi High School as a Junior (Varsity guard) and current Senior (varsity 1 or 2 guard).
As for my basketball history, I have played since the 3rd grade and have always loved the sport. Starting in 4th grade I started playing AAU with the Wisconsin Swing and finished this year with the Wisconsin Starz Elite. Through most of my years I have always played guard or point guard. As I have grown I have continued to play guard. My size has always given me an advantage over smaller guards. In many situations the opposing team has had to have their tallest guy guard me, usually the center. This has created a lot of opportunity for my team as it has opened up the middle for better driving and passing lanes. I can usually get around the bigger centers and penetrate and dish or score.
I have a high basketball IQ and enjoy creating and passing as much as I enjoy scoring. I'm looking to bring my size and length to a program that will utilize my advantages in the guard positions. I have a high shooting release which can allow me to also play small forward. Defense is my strongest skill. I get my hands on a lot of passes and enjoy grabbing the rebound and taking off with an outlet or on the dribble.
I look forward to going to college for the education, experience and becoming part of a team that will be with me for the rest of my life.
I am open to going to college anywhere in the country.
Thank You.
