The summer going into my junior year really shaped who I am today as a basketball player but also as a man. My team went to play in the YBOA Nationals in Orlando, Florida with a coach that was going through so much. My coach needed kidney dialysis every 2 days while there and later on in the summer needed a kidney and liver transplant. But here he is yelling and screaming to the best of his ability to help us win. We went out there every game for him and made sure we gave it everything we could because that's what he was doing for us. Our aspiration carried us to victory time and time again until we achieved our goal of winning the finals to be in first place in division one at the YBOA Nationals. Being there and seeing my coach so close to death but still giving it all he had taught me to give it everything I can because someday I might not be able to do so whether it's basketball or academics.
Now I'm going into my senior year, in a new state, with a new team and it's just another opportunity for me to prove my worth to a team. All the work and dedication I've put into making myself a respectable person will make me push myself to be the best I can be no matter where I am. Give me a chance to prove my worth and you won't be disappointed. You should give me a chance because I do things that some people might overlook when watching the game or looking at the stat sheet but without it the team wouldn't have the same energy and toughness that I seem to bring on the court. Grabbing rebounds, locking down on defense and just raising the energy with my effort makes my game more valuable.
