Hello, my name is Kristopher Miller, but everyone calls me Kris. I am a graduating senior (class of 2012) from Permian High School in Odessa, TX. I’m 18 y/o, 6 ft., 165 lbs. of speed…I run a 4.53 in the 40 yard dash. The Coaching staff and the Principal of the school choose me to be captain of Permian’s varsity basketball team because of my leadership on & off the court, the respect level that I give to others & because I have a big smile & big heart. I enjoy having fun & want to making sure others are in a good mood too; but I know when it’s time to play & time to be serious. I’m also the starting point guard for two consecutive years on the varsity team. Due to UIL rules & moving from the Dallas area to Odessa, I was not able to play varsity my sophomore year at Permian High; however, I was the captain on the junior varsity team which allowed me to show my strengths in leadership as well as my coaching skills & techniques to my coaches. My short-term career goal is to one day coach high school basketball, so my desire is to get a degree in Kinesiology. I have
searched for schools that have a good basketball program, and offer my major of study within the state of TX. My mom is single & disabled with my 2 y/o sister, and for my freshmen year I would prefer to attend college in TX, this way I can adjust to college life & not be to too far away from home, but she has told me to keep my options open to attend any school. I ended my junior year with a 2.7 GPA, and I’m working even harder to bring that up to a (B) average before I graduate. I work hard on & off the court. I’ve been employed since the summer of my senior year and I’m still maintaining a passing average. I have a great personality, and I’m
truly a people’s person/team player. Basketball runs thru my veins, and I pray that God will continue to bless me with my talent that I’m able to use it, learn more from my coaches/peers & someday share it with others.
Thanks for your time,
Kristopher (Kris) Miller
