Erik Talton '17 Recruiting Profile

My goal is to attend a college that will allow me to grow mentally and physically, one that will challenge me to reach and eventually exceed my potential academically and athletically. My greatest assets are my character, my work ethic, my determination, and my desire to be the very best. I come from a family of educators and athletes. My desire is to become an educator and coach which will allow me to mentor kids and help them to become productive men and women in society. I have inherited my grandmothers passion to teach and my cousin Gary Talton’s competitive nature along with his leadership skills. I pride myself on being an extension of my coach on the basketball court. Tom Kuyper has evaluated my video tape that is currently uploaded on my profile page. I had a successful summer which I led my team to two championships in two major tournaments (Great American Shootout in Duncanville, TX and the Fab48 in Las Vegas, NV) where I averaged double figures and scored 30 points in both championship games. My plan is to carry that momentum into my senior year and to work extremely hard in my classes to push my GPA well over the 3 point mark.
