Personal Statement

My collegiate goals are to continue to preform very highly in academics and in basketball. I have been a multi-sport athlete all my life, but basketball has always been my true passion. As a freshman and sophomore, I was the starting Quarterback and 2nd basemen for my school's JV football and baseball teams. I am about to enter my senior year at Stephen F. Austin High School, and I am very excited to start working toward capturing a district championship with my team. Last season, as a junior, I gave up football to primarily focus on basketball. I earned a starting spot on the Austin High varsity team, where I led my team in assists. I take pride in my work ethic as a basketball player, and never take a single day for granted. I realize that I can always find ways to improve my game. In my opinion, what makes me stand out as a basketball player is that I'm extremely unselfish and very coach-able.I understand that the team as a whole is more important than the individual, while I will always do whatever it takes to help the team win. Offensively, I'm a very confident and balanced player. I have great court vision and always look to create shots for my teammates. If a defender gives me space I have the ability to shoot the ball from three point range or pull up for a mid range jump shot.I always look to attack the rim and get to the paint when a drive lane opens up open up as well.  My biggest threat to opposing defenses is my ability to to run the lanes on fast breaks and score in transition. Defensively, I know that I will always have to outwork my opponent due to my height. Overall, I'm always hustling on the basketball court. I will sacrifice my body for a loose ball or a rebound. My GPA is a 3.97 and I am ranked in the top 10% of my class. I understand the importance of academics and always work hard to maintain a high GPA.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
