Barrington Stevens III '11 Recruiting Profile

My name is Barrington Stevens, and I am 6'0"ft and weigh 172 pounds. I am an extremely quick guard who can get from one end of the court to the other in a matter of seconds. I ran a 3.98 in the pro agility test as a junior in high school. Each year I continued to grow, mature, and improve my game. My freshmen year I started 4 games on varsity at Allen High school, and was named District 8-5a Newcomer of the year and one of TABC's ( Texas Association of Basketball Coaches)top 25 freshmen. As a freshmen in AAU I had the chance to guard the likes of Brandon Jennings and Acie Law from Texas A&M. My sophomore year was cut short due to a stress fracture on my right foot, but It made me not only a better player by watching and learining, but it made me a better teammate and a better leader. I took those days on the sideline to improve my body in order to compete at an even higher level for my junior year. My Junior season was great, not only because of the first team all district and team MVP selection, but because of the fact that we made the playoffs for the first time in 10 years at Allen High School. It was a major accomplishment! Moving into the top District in the state my senior yeaer was only going to prepare me for college. All of the notoriety that came with it from my prospective was pressure, but with my parents right by my side, I overcame every obstacle in my way. Even though we didnt make the play-offs we accomplished our first 20 plus win season since 1999, and that just shows you how good our disrtict was. I also received team MVP and was a first team all district selection, and receiving 1st team in this district was one that I cherished the most, because we had 4 division 1 signees, 2 top 50 prospects in the nation for the class of 2012, and that solidified me as one of the top players in the state my senior year. I gave my team heart, desire, and leadership to give confidence to raise my teammates level of play to my level. I can score 30 plus at any it calls for me to, but I can also run a team, and set my teammmates up for success for the ultimate team success. I am an absolute gym rat. I am the first to the gym and probably wont leave unless my parents call me to come home. I absolutely love this game and what it has to teach, such as discipline, hard work and determination, as well as mental toughness. It is my ultimate goal to play college basketball and to get a degree as well. I am undecided in my major and I do not have a need for a specific location to attend college. I am open to big schools, mid majors as well as small schools that take interest. My satisfaction in college will come from me being able to make an immediate impact in any way, shape, form or fashion in order to help the team win.
